Labor unions helped build America's middle class, and organized labor remains critical to fulfilling America's basic bargain: If you work hard and do your part, you should be able to get ahead and stay ahead. We need to strengthen and protect America's workforce. No one working full-time should be struggling to meet basics needs.

The skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century economy have changed, which is why I will support legislation that:

Encourages employers to support their workers with high-quality training and skill-building opportunities.
Guarantees a livable wage.
Attracts good-paying jobs to our District through federal investment in our region's infrastructure, manufacturing, research and technology, clean energy, and small businesses.
Protects freelance, salaried, and hourly workers from exploitation including wage theft and predatory practices.
